FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does IPL laser hair removal work?
The newest generation of IPL systems safely transmits a targeted beam of light through the skin to penetrate and disrupt your hair follicles. The light converts into heat, disabling the cell’s ability for hair growth.
What are the actual treatments like?
IPL laser hair removal treatments are surprisingly fast and easy! During the procedure, you will feel a gentle snap in the area undergoing the treatment.

How do I prepare for treatments?
Preparation is minimal, and unlike waxing, tweezing, or shaving, you don’t need to grow out body hair
beforehand. We recommend avoiding artificial tanning or natural sun exposure at least 4 weeks before
treatments.

What can I expect after a session?
Once the treatment is over, you’ll experience little to no irritation. In some cases, depending on the procedure, skin type, and treatment area, clients may experience very mild redness or tenderness. However, such reactions do not interfere with day-to-day activities and usually subside within a day.
Am I a good candidate for IPL laser hair removal?
While results may vary according to factors like skin type, hormones, consistency of treatments, and your willingness to follow guidelines, IPL laser hair removal will not work on blonde, gray, or white hair. Still unsure? Call now to book a free consultation.

How many treatments will I need?
IPL most effectively interacts with hair when it’s in its active growth phase—the anagen phase. To ensure treatment occurs during this phase, multiple treatments are required for lasting hair removal. Usually, a 20% hair reduction will occur during initial treatment and as much as an 80% reduction occurs after four to six treatments.

What happens immediately after treatments?
For photofacials and hair removal, there is no downtime or post-treatment recovery or discomfort. In some cases for photofacials, mild redness or a flushed appearance may be present. This is absolutely normal and very short-lived. What's left is clearer, more youthful, naturally glowing skin.
Why is my hair still growing?
IPL uses thermal heat, which is a minimally invasive way to stop hair growth under the skin. It takes 7-10 days post treatment for your body to reject the hair. While it may look like stubble above the skin, it's not new hair growth. It's actually the old hair making its way to the surface to be shed.

Can I remove hair between treatments?
We highly advise against waxing or plucking/tweezing of any kind.

What skin conditions can IPL photofacial treat?
Acne
Rosacea
Pigmentation
Scarring
Spider veins and broken capillaries
Enlarged pores
Redness and blemishes
Fine lines and wrinkles
Is IPL safe?
Yes, it’s approved by the FDA. With that said, if you have any doubts, concerns, or questions about your health in regards to IPL treatment, please consult your physician or a medical professional. We are not medical professionals and cannot provide medical guidance.
